It’s Valentine’s Day, and the NBA is showing us a lot of love with a whopping 12 Wednesday night games. Almost every team is in action as we near the All-Star Break, so you need to be picky and play only the very best matchups and give yourself tons of upside. Some teams are already on break mentally, and other games should be high-scoring affairs. Let’s build a DFS Valentine.
PF/C Anthony Davis NOP $11.6K vs Los Angeles Lakers
The Brow has been absolutely dealing lately. He’s scored 56+ fantasy points in seven of his last nine games, averaging a ridiculous 57.3 fppg during that stretch with four games of 38+ points scored. Now he gets a high-paced game against the Lakers, a team he has usually dominated against. Davis averages 34 points, 12 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks in his last five games against the Lakers. He should have his way with them again and is a must-start heading into the break.
PG Damian Lillard POR $8.8K vs Golden State
Lillard always loves to show up on the game’s biggest stages, and there aren’t many bigger regular season stages than a visit to his hometown Oakland on ESPN. Lillard averages 32 points a game in his last three trips home, and the Warriors have leaked some big games to point guards this season. With C.J. McCollum struggling of late, Dame could be in for another monster game.
SG/SF Joe Ingles UTA $6.1K vs Phoenix
The Jazz are on fire, winning ten in a row, and that’s not likely to slow down at home against the Suns. Ingles has taken on a much bigger role since Utah traded away Rodney Hood and Joe Johnson, and he’s scored 39 fantasy points in three straight games, averaging a LeBron Lite 23/5/5 with 13 threes. He’ll be a popular play in DFS games, and he should be.
PG/SG Isaiah Thomas LAL $5.8K vs New Orleans
The Lakers-Pelicans game has a huge 228 over/under and should be a run-and-gun shootout. Isaiah Thomas had one of his best games of the season in his debut for the Lakers with 22 points, 6 assists, and 4 threes, and he seems to be finding his shot and his confidence again. IT will come off the bench again Wednesday but played 31 minutes in that role even with five fouls, so that shouldn’t be a problem. The revenge tour continues, and he may want his All-Star moment.
PF/C Derrick Favors UTA $5.7K vs Phoenix
Favors is one of a handful of Utah players that’s been especially hot during their win streak. He has twin 35.75 fantasy-point games his last two and now faces a Phoenix team that’s terrible against bigs. He is a double-double threat and should get some steals and blocks too.
SG/SF Allen Crabbe BKN $5.1K vs Indiana
This should be a high-paced game, and both Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Caris LeVert are questionable. That could mean a continued big role for Crabbe, who’s been hot with 39 fppg over his last three. He’s averaging 26 points a game in that stretch with an absurd 16 threes, so there’s huge upside here.
SG/SF Justin Jackson SAC $3.6K vs Houston
Jackson is finally getting more playing time of late with George Hill out of the rotation, and he’s starting to produce too. He’s averaging a 10/5 the last four games with at least 17 fantasy points in each, so he’ll fill a cheap bench role well enough here.
PF/C Cheick Diallo NOP $3.2K vs Los Angeles Lakers
Diallo is not much, but he’s playing about 15 minutes a game lately and has always been a stud rebounder with pretty good per-minute numbers. He’s averaged 18 fppg over the last six games and should contribute some decent cheap points.
