Tonight the NBA has 6 games on the schedule featuring the Pelicans who are playing their third game in a row, 7 teams that are eliminated from playoff contention, and injuries. I always encourage readers to check lineups up until tip-off for up to date injury information along with players who are being rested. With that said, let’s dive into the best plays of the night.
PG Dennis Schroder (ATL @ SAC, $6,500)
The Atlanta Hawks are injury-ridden and are far out of playoff contention. Without the injuries, I would have less exposure to this team but I’m interested in Dennis Schroder tonight. The last 2 games, he has reached 35 minutes and shattered value including one near 60 point performance. He may not reach 58 points again, but at this salary and with Atlanta lacking players, he is a strong GPP play.
PG/SG James Harden (HOU vs DET, $11,600)
Houston is fighting to remain as the 1 seed in the west. Tonight, the salary is up above 11.5k but I look for him to continue his current hot streak of 60 points performances. Also, it is worth noting that Chris Paul is currently questionable. If he misses, Harden is a must-play in cash games. If he plays, that makes Harden more of a GPP play given his massive upside.
SG/SF E-Twaun Moore (NO vs LAL, $4,300)
Small forward is an ugly position tonight. I do think Aaron Gordon and Ben Simmons are quality plays up above 7k. However, I will be paying down tonight and that leads me right to E-Twaun Moore who is a salary saver. The Lakers are bottom 7 against SF’s in the past 5 games. Moore doesn’t do anything flashy but is on the court frequently. With his consistent minutes, he is a strong cash play and can be used in GPP as well.
PF/C Blake Griffin (DET @ HOU, $8,600)
Griffin is priced up into the 8k range and rightfully so. He has been playing great basketball lately and publicly expressed his happiness in Detroit. Detroit still has a fighting chance for an 8 seed so they need Griffin to continue his stellar play. The matchup isn’t ideal but the pace of the game will provide more rebounds along with scoring opportunities. He has surpassed 50 points in the last two games and I think it continues tonight. He can be used in any format tonight.
PF/C Dewayne Dedmon (ATL @ SAC, $5,600)
Every time I play this guy, he ends up burning me. He can be extremely volatile but it is that wild upside that keeps me coming back for more. In his last outing, he scored 46 DK points which was 9.5x value. He is priced up more tonight given the matchup and John Collins’ injury status. The matchup is juicy as the Kings have been bottom 5 all season against the center position. If you’re looking for a GPP play with monster upside, he is your guy.
